Our Vision
At United for the Unsheltered of Kalamazoo, we envision a community where our unhoused neighbors are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. We believe that access to basic necessities — fresh meals, hygiene supplies, clothing, and vital resources — is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Our vision is a city where no one faces hunger or hardship alone, where neighbors come together to support one another, and where pathways to stability and self-sufficiency are available to all.
We see a future in which every person has the opportunity to thrive, supported by a community that values empathy, equity, and practical assistance. Through our weekly meal programs, distribution of hygiene kits and clothing, and connection to critical services, we aim not only to meet immediate needs but also to empower individuals to access resources, regain independence, and build hope for the future. Together, we are creating a Kalamazoo where no one is left unseen, and everyone has the opportunity to live with safety, dignity, and possibility.
